 First off, the thing you need to know is, I conceive Chainsaw Man anime as a anime with top notch action, main character with sad backstory, sometimes funny and displays powerful friendship with a decent story line. So, the anime that I will be recommending will be based on mentioned criteria. And, note that the order of the list is random meaning that the order of the list will not comply the popularity of the anime.

12. Parasyte-the maxim-

It sets in a world where alien descend upon earth and quickly infiltrate humanity by burrowing into the brains of vulnerable targets. These aliens acquire full control of their host and are able to feed on unsuspecting prey. 16 years old high school student Shinichi Izumi falls victim to one of these parasitic alien, but it fails to take over his brain, ending up in his right hand instead. Unable to relocate, the parasite, now named Migi, has no choice but to rely on Shinichi in order to stay alive. Thus, the pair is forced into an uneasy coexistence and must defend themselves from hostile parasites that hope to eradicate this new threat to their species.

11. Demon Slayer

This anime tells the  story of a normal boy Tanjirou Kamado who has the responsibility of supporting his family on his shoulders ever since the demise of his father. Though living impoverished life on a remote mountain, Kamado family are able to enjoy a relatively peaceful and happy life. But one day, Tanjirou gets late while returning from his work so, he was forced to take shelter in the house of a strange man, who warns him of existence of flesh eating demons that lurk in the woods at night. When he finally arrives back home the next day, he is met with a horrifying sight-his whole family has been slaughtered. Worse still, the sole survivor is his sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a bloodthirsty demon. Consumed by rage and hatred, Tanjirou swears to avenge his family and stay by his only remaining sibling. Alongside the mysterious group calling themselves the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjirou will do whatever it takes to slay the demons and protect the remnants of his beloved sister.

10. Tokyo Ghoul

This anime sets in the city of Tokyo where a sinister threat is invading: flesh eating "ghouls" who appear identical to humans and blend into their population. Reserved college student Ken Kaneki buries his nose in books and avoids the news of the growing crisis. However, the appearance of an attractive woman named Rize Kamishiro shatters his solitude when she forwardly asks him on a date. While walking Rize home, Kaneki discovers she isn't as kind as she appeared, and she has led him on with sinister intent. After a tragic struggle, he later awakens in a hospital to learn his life was saved by transplanting the now deceased Rize's organ into his body. His body begins to change in horrifying way, he transform into a human-ghoul hybrid. As he embarks on his new dreadful journey, Kaneki clings to his humanity in the evolving bloody conflict between society's new monster and the government agents who hunt them.

9. Attack on Titan

Centuries ago, mankind was slaughtered to near extinction by monstrous creatures called Titans, forcing humans to hide in fear behind enormous concentric walls. To ensure their survival, the remnants of humanity began living within defensive barriers resulting in one hundred years without a single titan encounter. However, that fragile calm is shattered when a colossal Titan manages to breach the supposedly impregnable outer wall, reigniting the fight for survival against the man eating abominations. After witnessing a horrific personal loss at the hands of the invading creatures, Eren Yeager dedicates his life to their eradication by enlisting into the Survey Corps, an elite military unit that combats the merciless humanoids outside the protection of the walls. Eren, his adopted sister Mikasa and his childhood friend Armin join the brutal war against Titans and race to discover a way of defeating them before the last walls are breached.

8. Berserk

The story centers on the character Guts, a former mercenary now known as the "Black Swordsman," who is out for revenge. After a tumultuous childhood, he finally finds someone he respects and believes he can trust, only to have everything fall apart when this person takes away everything important to Guts for the purpose of fulfilling his own desires. Now marked for death, Guts becomes condemned to a fate in which he is relentlessly pursued by demonic beings. Setting on a dreadful quest riddled with misfortune, Guts, armed with a massive sword and monstrous strength, will let nothing stop him, not even death itself, until he finally able to take the head of the one who stripped his loved ones from him.

7. Black Clover

This fantasy anime centers around the characters of Asta and Yuno who were raised in a church of a peasant village. They both are like brothers but from a very young age they rival each other to be a "Wizard King" which is the position given to the strongest mage in the kingdom but the turn of events Asta can't use any magic while Yuno is considered one of the best in using magic. So, this a journey of a boy who can't use magic in a world where almost every one can use it, aiming to be the Wizard king rivaling with the best mages in the kingdom. 

6. Full Metal Alchemist

This popular classic anime is about Edward Elric, a young brilliant alchemist, who has lost much in his childhood. In the process of reviving his death mother using the forbidden alchemy he again loses his brother and his two limbs, somehow he manages to bind his brother soul to a metal armor. So, this is a story of the journey of two brothers who are trying their best to get back what they lost using philosopher's stone which is mythical stone which is able to make alchemist very powerful. However, the Elric brothers soon discover that there is more to the legendary stone than meets the eye, as they are led to the epicenter of a far darker battle than they could have ever imagined.

5. Jujutsu Kaisen

It sets in a world of curses- beings formed from human malice and negativity. The story follows the life of Yuuji Itadori who is a high schooler living his normal life but one day his normal life takes a turn for the strange when he unknowingly encounters a cursed item which he swallows and becomes rigged with curse himself. As soon as he discovers his new found powers, he is introduced to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, he begins to walk down a path from which he cannot return-the path of a Jujutsu sorcerer. 

4. Bleach

This anime follows the story of Ichigo Kurosaki, who is an ordinary high school student-until his family is attacked by a Hollow, a corrupt spirit that seeks to devour human souls. It is then that he meets a Soup Reaper named Rukia Kuchiki, who gets injured while protecting Ichigo's family from the assailant. To save his family, Ichigo accepts Rukia's offer of taking her powers and becomes a Soul Reaper as a result. However, as Rukia is unable to regain her powers, Ichigo is given the daunting task of hunting down the Hollows that plague their town. However, he is not alone in his fight, as he is later is joined by his friends who each have their own unique abilities. As Ichigo and his comrades get used to their new duties and support each other on and off the battlefield, the young Soul Reaper soon learns that the Hollows are not the only threat to the human world.

3. My Hero Academia

 This popular anime is set in a world where the people have some kind of supernatural abilities which are called quirks and also there is a association of heroes who uses their quirks to help people and fight evil. But there are also people with none of the powers, just a normal human being and Izuku Midoriya is one such individual. Izuku's unfair fate leaves him to admire heroes and dreaming about being one but with no quirks he can't be. But with the strange stroke of luck, his fate changes when the number one hero chooses him as his successor by letting him inherit his powers. Izuku join the school for heroes training program, with his bizarre but talented classmates and the looming threat of a villainous organization, Izuku will soon learn what it means to be a hero.

2. Fairy Tale

In the enchanted Kingdom of Fiore, the lively Lucy Heartfilia has one wish: to join the renowned Fairy Tail—one of the many magical wizard guilds scattered around the continent. Luckily, a chance encounter with Natsu Dragneel, the "Salamander" of Fairy Tail, whisks her into the legendary guild. From Natsu's rivalrous antics with ice wizard Gray Fullbuster to the frightening presence of the unmatched combat goddess Erza Scarlet, Fairy Tail's powerful mages have a slight penchant for trouble. Teaming up with Natsu, Gray, and Erza, Lucy finds herself amidst the guild's most misfit wizards. But as they constantly stand in the eye of every danger, there is one name that never ceases to resurface: Zeref, the feared master of dark magic.

1. Naruto

Moments prior to Naruto Uzumaki's birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-Tailed Fox, attacked Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf Village, and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the Kyuubi's rampage, the leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto. Now, Naruto is a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja still living in Konohagakure. Shunned because of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village, while his burning desire to become the Hokage of Konohagakure leads him not only to some great new friends, but also some deadly foes. This anime is one of my personal favorite of all time.
